Charles Gershman founded Brink Magazine in 2007 with the goal of promoting good writing and art. He works by day as a writer on publications at the Yale School of Medicine and holds a BA from Columbia University. A member of the National Book Critics Circle, Charles has published reviews in the Miami Herald, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and other newspapers and publications.

Jenny Blair is a nonfiction writer and emergency physician. She wrote an award-winning column for the Hartford Courant and has spoken at Stanford University about writing and on “Good Morning America” and “Talk of the Nation” about medical training. She admires writers Joan Didion, Susan Orlean, and Lawrence Weschler, as well as documentary filmmaker Errol Morris, for their brilliance at describing pockets of beauty and strangeness.

Cedrick Mendoza-Tolentino received his BA from Columbia University, where he studied English literature and creative writing. He is currently a law student specializing in public international law. When he can find the time to get away from legal documents and stuffy judicial opinions, he finds himself drawn to the work of fiction writers like Ian McEwan, Haruki Murakami, and Julian Barnes, and poets like Stephen Dunn and Lawrence Raab–not only for the beauty and clarity of their language, but for their ability to marry the strange with the most mundane.

Sol Park is a fiction writer and poet. He has enjoyed reading the poetry of Li Young Lee, Allen Ginsberg, Patrick Rosal, and Ed Bok Lee. Some of the most important novels he’s read are Invisible Man (Ralph Ellison), The English Patient (Michael Ondaatje), and The Savage Detectives (Roberto Bolano), to name three. He loves music, has been listening to rap since the early 90s, and considers Hip Hop alive and well. He thinks everyone should read Theme Magazine, Jeff Chang, and Junot Diaz. He also likes to draw and paint.

Peter Kang, Creative Directorpeter_kang
Peter Kang runs Barrel, a website design company based in New York. He received his BA from Columbia University, where he studied history and film studies. He is a board member of the Mirae Foundation, which oversees the annual Korean Students Conference (KASCON), and a coordinator of the Korean American Film Festival New York (KAFFNY). He counts Kazuo Ishiguro, Paul Auster, Ian McEwan, Saul Bellow, and J.M. Coetzee as his favorite authors.
